About Kate Bailey

Before devoting her practice to representing injured individuals and families, Kate spent more than a decade defending physicians, hospitals, healthcare organizations, and national companies in complex, high-exposure civil litigation. That experience gave her a deep understanding of how defendants investigate, evaluate, and try complex cases. Today, she draws on that knowledge to anticipate defense strategies and fight for individuals and families seeking answers, accountability, and justice.

Kate has extensive experience trying complex civil cases in state and federal courts across the country. She has taken and defended hundreds of fact and expert depositions, argued dozens of dispositive motions, drafted appellate briefs, and successfully resolved high-stakes litigation through settlement, mediation, and trial. She approaches every case as though it may ultimately be decided by a jury, believing that meticulous trial preparation not only produces stronger courtroom advocacy, but also places clients in the strongest possible position to achieve meaningful resolutions.

Kate has devoted her career to the craft of trial advocacy. She thrives on mastering complex subjects, asking difficult questions, recognizing patterns others may overlook, and connecting seemingly unrelated pieces of evidence into a clear and compelling case. Whether analyzing complicated medicine in a birth injury case, helping survivors of sexual assault or the families of wrongful death victims hold institutions accountable, or examining police practices in an excessive force case, Kate believes exceptional advocacy begins with deep understanding. Her work has contributed to significant results, including the largest excessive force settlement ever paid by El Paso County, Colorado.

Kate's commitment to advocacy extends beyond her own cases. She is a frequent speaker for attorneys and healthcare professionals, mentors young lawyers and students, and coaches high school and collegiate mock trial teams. She considers it a privilege to earn her clients' trust and an even greater responsibility to help them navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
